I have a hearty endorsement

I have a hearty endorsement for Terry Vrla. I had my /6 Speedo rebuilt. Reasonable price and a meticulous job. I've also had work done by North Hollywood on my /2 speedo. Excellent work. However they were expensive, and they messed up the face by giving me a R69S marked one. i.e. the blue shift mark...

It's a historic plate. NY State allows you to find a license plate for the year of your vehicle and use it as a "Historic". So I found a '65 NY motorcycle plate. The '17 is the registration sticker, so it's 100% legal to ride every day

It's too bad. It takes a while to grow on you. You can get starting dialed in. Now both my R50/2 and my R59S start after 2 kicks after the winter. During the season, they usually start in one. I did invest hours in setting up timing just right. I also mastered the art of starting while seated on my ...

I'm always torn. I think the small tanks do look better than the 6.5 gallon tank.

I have the 6.5 gallon tank on my R69S, and the regular tank on my R50/2.

My next airhead will be a /5 or possibly an R80ST

I have a '76 R90/6 Overall I love this bike but here are some things that I don't like about it. Front brakes. The master cylinder under the tank configuration reduces the braking power of your grip. Instrument cluster. The speedo is inaccurate around 10-15 mph. I cannot believe my /2 speedos are mo...

I have both an R50/2 and an R69S Both are easy to start but it wasn't always so. My R50 had retarded timing. The PO retarded it because the advance unit was worn out and didn't want to ping the motor. I replaced the advance unit and set up static timing, cleaned or replaced my idle jets, set the idl...

If you have the space and the running costs are not too high, why not? For me, keeping these bikes, including storage, insurance, maintenance, far exceeds any potential investment value they have in the future. There are far better ways of investing your money in if that's the primary reason why you...

I'm also a fan of improving my bike a bit at a time and not doing a complete restoration. It's less time consuming, with less outlay of funds, and it allows you to enjoy it while you restore it. So far I've concentrated on functional improvements like relining the brakeshoes, top-end overhaul, carb ...
