Re: Pagusa seat top

I built the little box frame setup and it worked fine. Still was a tough job. Getting the front piece for the seat in place was quite difficult. Took a long time even with heat and lube. If I do it again it will go better. I'm so pleased I did the job and it all worked by myself. Thanks for your hel...

Pagusa seat top

I looked in the knowledge base and archives but didn't find any information on changing the seat top. I know it is a tough job. Is this something I can do myself ? Do I need special tools ? Appreciate your help on this. Thanks, Michael

Re: restoration advice for newbie

I have never heard of this warning on powder coated frames. Five years ago I had the frame on my R67/2 powder coated and have ridden the bike over 3500 miles since. The frame looks perfect. I also powder coated many of the smaller parts myself. I would have the frame powder coated on the next bike I...

Re: R60/2 Ugly Battery

Very nice, I have used this set up on my plunger frame bike.
On my R69S I converted to 12 volt alternator and used two R27 batteries. I couldn’t find an AGM battery the correct size so I used the acid type.

Re: R60/2 Ugly Battery

You’re quite right, that really is an ugly battery. I had the same issue so I painted the battery with hammer finish paint from a local hardware store.
Taping off the liquid level window and adding a Bosch sticker.

Re: OLD MAN SLINGER RANT!!

My intent was to inform a newbie and others about maintaining a sixty year old vintage BMW motorcycle. If slingers are neglected, ultimately an oil passage will fill and deprive big end of crankshaft of critical oiling. Years ago these bikes were relatively cheap and engine service wasn’t expensive e...
