I tap the allen bolt on the advancer with a brass drift and small hammer from the side that is "advanced" and it gets within 1mm. That is Duanes method and it works.

it is supposed to be pressed

it is supposed to be pressed off toward the front of the cam shaft,not towards the rear. Please do yourself a favor and buy the Barrington manual or any manual for that matter.......it is essential. There are great technical tips and pictures to guide you towards a successful rebuild. It is worth it...

I agree with The Plunger,that is a odd match,R50S which is a high revver HP motor coupled to a sidecar. I feel the same about R69S with a sidecar,the bigger carb/higher rev motors don't have that low rpm torque that the smaller carb/cam motors have. Unleash the beast and ride that R50S solo the way ...
