I tap the allen bolt on the advancer with a brass drift and small hammer from the side that is "advanced" and it gets within 1mm. That is Duanes method and it works.

The rubber o-ring gets stretched and goes on the carb top.

it is supposed to be pressed off toward the front of the cam shaft,not towards the rear. Please do yourself a favor and buy the Barrington manual or any manual for that matter.......it is essential. There are great technical tips and pictures to guide you towards a successful rebuild. It is worth it...

I agree with The Plunger,that is a odd match,R50S which is a high revver HP motor coupled to a sidecar. I feel the same about R69S with a sidecar,the bigger carb/higher rev motors don't have that low rpm torque that the smaller carb/cam motors have.
