luggage

I don' t know what fits what, but I do know that Psycle-RePsycle in Lithopolis used to have a semi trailer of used luggage. Might drop them a line or give them a call. They usually have a lot of stuff.

Used wheel source?

Hi - I've got the mag wheels on my 750/7 - and was told by the PO that the rear one is cracked. Does anyone know if this can be repaired or, if not, a source for used ones? thanks

throwing things in...

Yup, "splines" is on the list in my head and the bike came with two manuals - thanks for the reminder. I recall some of the oil filter stuff you said from previous airhead work, but it's been awhile. I also maintaina similar vintage Guzzi so figure much is similar. No hurry - it's a projec...

K&N air filter

Hi - I'm a few months late to this party - but had been wondering about putting K&N in my 75/7 project - but I'm more in line with the comments here. In the past putting K&N filters on underpowered machines has not given me any benefits - so glad to catch this thread.

R100/7

I'm new to the board and have just gotten another Beemer after many years away from the marque. I picked up an R75/7 that's been sitting in a barn under a tarp for at least 5 years. It has almost 70K on it. As I proceed on this project, here's my thoughts: steering head bearings clean/adjust/grease ...

Hi Joel I've not been active

Hi Joel
I've not been active on the board since joining a few months back but am now getting into my /7 project, so thanks for your questions & to others for the information. I grew up outside Ann Arbor and now live in the Central Buckeye state. Hope we cross paths.

Finding/Painting a R80 G/S?

check with Ron at www.eurocyclemoto.com (he's near Dayton, OH) and also w/ Dan at The Breeze Custom Rides in Grove City, OH - 614-594-2163 - both paint bikes and I think Ron has done some BMW resto work that may be on his web site. Jake

New rider, old bike? Buying a 1974 R75/6 as a first Bike?

Lots of good responses here - depends on what you're looking to do. There probably isn't a much easier machine to ease you into maintenance and repairs, if that's part of your goal. The 30 year issues is a real one, espec for the electrical stuff. The lubing/greasing/adjusting/etc is easy to update ...
