No Chokes to speak of.

The air cleaner assembly has a straight lever that restricts the air flow. I guess you could call that a choke. On my 1960 R50 I never move this lever, I always leave it in the full open position. The carbs have ticklers and the purpose is to flood the gas in the float chamber and this adds fuel for...

check re-psycle

I had my pod rebuilt... both speedo and tach. R75/7 $180 plus parts and shipping. Seems reasonable and fair. http://www.re-psycle.com/ My speedo started swinging wildly then spun it needle off. The drive cable was fine and well lubed. The system just exploded inside.. the tach was jumping a bit over...

I like Mikuni's!

I have a 77 R75/7 that had miss-matched Bings, the numbers were not stock. They functioned ok but a little cold blooded. I switched to the Mikuni 32 and the starting improved and overall response is good. Have ridden them from sealevel to 12K feet with overall good preformance... The bike is current...

dumped (stored) the narrow breadloaf for a Denfeld solo

It is all about looks. The solo is a bit cold here in Alaska. The breadloaf was a comfy ride and warm on the tuch..
I will keep the breadloaf...like I'm keeping the original Flanders Fairing.. neither are installed. Just part of the package.

been absent..

Just got back and checked the fluid levels in the tranny.. all good.. about 1/8" below the threads on the level. I installed a new clutch disk with the engine rebuild.. and am breaking in the clutch too. I noticed quite some stretch in the clutch cable and also noticed that when the motor heate...

sticky...sticky

Thanks Kurt and Jeff for the interest.. The tranny shifter lever requires 2 to 3 times more effort to cause a shift in gears and the feel is stiff.. as opposed to the normal toggle feel of a shift. I am nervous about over filling the trans as it was a mistake in the past and the clutch became satura...

sticky tranny 1960 R50?

Am breaking in an engine.. Brooks Motors Rebuild and have about 150 miles on the engine.. all I did to the tranny was add the exact right amount of oil to the box and have been riding it.. so at about 135 mile the shifting became sticky.. I am using synthetic gear oil. High quality syn gear box oil...
