Yeah, that actually happened

Yeah, that actually happened to me last year, except it was on the main central stand when it happened :| My bike fell over my friend's F800R and cracked the radiator housing. Obviously, that would never have happened if he had been wise enough to get himself an air cooled version :) I'll look into ...

Kickstand for BMW R60US

Hello! I am the proud owner of a 1965 BMW R60/2 which at some point has been converted into a "R60US" w/ telescopic fork by a previous owner. My problem is that the kickstand is just plain too short (the angle of the bike when on the kick stand is precariously low) for the bike since the f...

Looks about right, except

Looks about right, except that I've used the first hole on the saddlemount to screw into the rubbermount. Will try to stretch it to the middle hole and see if that helps. Thanks for your reply, Kurt!

She's Dover White!

Mounting my new solo seat yesterday, I had to remove the tank to get the thing bolted in. First time the tank's been off since I bought the bike, so great was my surprise when I saw that this bike was originally Dover White! Since the black paint is quite shabby (except on the obviously newly spraye...

PAGUSA solo seat mounting, pics and a question..

Hi! Yesterday I mounted a new Pagusa solo seat on my 1965 R60/2 (US conversion at some point), and I just want to run some pictures by you to see if it's mounted correctly. I mean, there isn't much you CAN do wrong here, what with all the fixed brackets and bolt holes and such, but nonetheless: does...

Bluemoonscooter

I like the guy! I've bought side mirrors, rear fender nuts&bolts, handlebar blinkers w/ relay and switch, and other assorted tidbits, and I can't say I've been anything other than completely happy with the quality. He also responds and ships quickly. For "bigger stuff" I use Ulismotorr...

51/3 Carburettors on a 60/2 ?

Thanks, that list was helpful! Most of the stuff on Roundel's photostream was useful, as a matter of fact : )

Recommended oil for 1965 R60/2

I found an Oslo-based BMW repair shop which actually services - and supplies parts for - old BMW machines. Does the guy has a web site? They do have a website (http://www.mcoslo.no) but I'm afraid it's all in Norwegian.. : ) No "old parts" here though.. I assume they order them from German...

Recommended oil for 1965 R60/2

I found an Oslo-based BMW repair shop which actually services - and supplies parts for - old BMW machines. After talking to a guy who knew a lot more about my bike than I do, I ended up buying Castrol GTX3-4T 15/40W Mineral Oil. This oil is specially designed for old engines with high mileage.

Mounting of rear fender R60/2

There! I ended up buying round rubber pads which I cut holes into, to protect the frame from nuts and bolts, and simply electricians tape all over while mounting. Worked beautifully, not a scratch! And this is the result (with which I am - needless to say - pretty satisfied): http://i8.photobucket.c...
