To answer your question...

The LED tail/brake sold by Vech, made by Bulbsthatlast4ever.com, works very well - very, very small drain on the system - VERY bright brake/tail. Does it shift differently now than before you changed to synthetic? IF so, try going back to 40wt.

1. Did you, (by chance), wire the batteries in "series" rather than "parallel", (i.e. 12V rather than 6V)? If so, it won't charge. 2. Two batteries in parallel (6V), especially if discharged, might draw too much current, and roast the generator/voltage regulator....Check your gen...

I had that problem when I first got my R-50....I think I replaced the transmission input seal...I should remember, but I've slept since then....

This may, or may not, be of help to you, but a few comments... Your LED tail light upgrade may already have "blocking diodes" on the ckt board to prevent feedback to ground, (some do, some don't), but these MAY needed in order to run additional tail/brake saddle bag lights in parallel with...

Based on what you are doing/going to do, suggest buying "BMW/2 Motorcycle Restoration and Service Manual" by Christopher Betjemann. I think you can order the book direct from Barrington Motor Works, (603) 664-2673. Worth the money for the wealth of info provided in those 490 pages...others...
