I'd take the tank off and open the master cylinder top...don't let the fluid get on anything. Then use something like a wooden shim and drive it between the pads to push them back as needed to get the disk inserted.
Thank you sir!! Your suggestion worked . . .

Reinstalling front wheel on R90/6

I removed the front wheel for a new tire. Getting it back on is a total PITA . . . Even though it's an R90/6, it has dual front discs (exactly like R90S). On one side, I just can't seem to get the rotor between the brake pads (seems like too small of a space . . . Any advice? Like taking off the cal...

Re: R90/6 Brakes front disc brakes

Thanks for the replies. As it turns out, I had wrench in hand prepared to open the bleeders, but before doing that I was squeezing the brake lever in and out while trying to move the wheel by hand. Suddenly, the brake lever loosened up and the wheel became free and the brakes seem to work normally. ...

Re: R90/6 Brakes front disc brakes

Do you have the under tank master cylinder? You mentioned no play, have you tried to loosen the cable from the brake lever to the master cylinder? Have you ever rebuilt the master cylinder? It may be going bad and the return port is clogged. Yes, master cylinder is under the tank. I rebuilt the mas...

R90/6 Brakes front disc brakes

My '76 R/90 has dual front disc brakes. Late last summer, thanks to help from people on this forum, I was able to rebuild the calipers, etc. and then put about 1000 miles on it with the brakes working really well. It's been sitting in the garage for the past 4 months without being used and now I jus...

Re: R90/6 brake bleeding question

I totally understand the danger in using too much force when it's uncalled for. The "BFH" thing was sort of tongue in cheek. In reality, I did use a hammer, but it wasn't so big and I just used it to tap the pivot so it went completely in. And it worked and everything's working fine . . .

r90/6 center stand spring

Center spring broke and the spring is just hanging there. Any suggestions on how to get the hook out of the small hole in the frame? Looks like an impossible angle and can't get anything in that small space to clip it . . .
