Re: Petrol Tank that are made in India ?

Good morning Don, Who was the supplier? I understand that he speaks german but is located in India? :? I'm still struggling with this issue, can't get my mind up. Yes, I would do the same: Liquid dish soap and water for cleaning and see if it is tight. Put it on a dry paper or cardboard, it will hel...

Re: Trying to remove pressure plate slotted screws with engine in place.

I remember getting the engine out of place with the help of a standard regular car jack. Re: Carburetor Heat Shields

Re: 65 BMW R50 Gas tank

Do you also have a locked toolbox on the gas tank?
On my R51/3, it is the same key: that of the toolbox also opens the fuel tank lock.

Pls show me your solutions for a small motorcycle bag/pannier

Over here in Israel it is mandatory to carry with you while on the road (car, motorcycle, truck - doesn't matter) a highly luminescent vest. It can be folded to a small piece though, yet it does not fit inside the tank tool-box as the later is already packed with stuff. What ideas can you offer, wit...

Re: Petrol Tank that are made in India ?

Yes, they did not want to touch it, they claimed that the metal wall was too thin and would not withstand the heat of the process. I did the repair myself with a tin rod. Surface preparation is the most important thing here. Indeed it was very difficult because I could not fill the tank with water i...

Re: Petrol Tank that are made in India ?

Well, I guess you are all right. My dad also used to say "I'm not rich enough to buy twice cheap". But, in the meantime, I got a response from these guys https://www.vintagebikecustoms.com/?s=r51%2F3&post_type=product As follows: Dear Sir Thank you for contacting us. Yes we have BMW R51/3 fuel tank ...
