Re: Speedo needle removal

I replaced the plastic gears in a friend's '95 K75 trip/odometer.
I used a fork to gently pry the needle off. Worked fine.
No, the spring does not unwind.

Re: Looking for a R50-R60 Luggage rack in chrome

The Craven racks are all powder coated in black now. They will sell them in custom colors or bare metal and you could have it chromed. Sorry, you didn't specify whether you were looking for a fender rack or a general tail rack although your photo shows a fender rack. I'm not sure I've ever seen a fe...

Wow!!
Judging by the before pictures the seller looks to have barely broken even.
I think the seller got that price because in the description it says they replaced the headlight and taillight bulbs.

Re: Twin/triple gauge headlight bucket wanted

Those prices seem "reasonable" considering an original 2 gauge Rauch beautifully restored with gauges sold for over $10,000 on Fleabay a few years ago.

Re: Rear Main Seal /2 expert opinions wanted

You shouldn't use either one. You should put that crank assembly on a shelf in plain view to see. It's beautiful. But... if you must hide the crankshaft in your engine, use the seal that appears to be newer (the brown one?). It may have a more "supple" rubber seal long term. An older seal ...

Re: Recommendations for AM soft rubber grips

They're cheap enough to just give it a shot!! It says for 7/8" and 22mm. I'm pretty sure the bars are 22mm, but 7/8" is bigger than 22mm. Not sure if it's going to work. In situations like that, typically one would wrap the handlebars with some tape just to take up the gap. Kurt, the bigg...

I think it suggests that Butler & Smith took possession of them at the factory, thus it was "delivered".
Ahh....that would make sense.

Re: '55 R69 on Ebay

I found it amazing that the bike was "built on April 21, 1955 and delivered on the same(my emphasis) day to the BMW importer Butler and Smith in New York City." Assuming it was built in Germany, that was some fast shipping in the day.

Re: What year Bighorn F5F-17787

Um.... maybe if you scratch off the Kawasaki name on the tank and scrawl BMW in magic marker in it's place it could be a 2-stroke 350 BMW single from the 70s. Or chrome the tank and call it a Bighorn toaster tank.
Or go here and ask.
