Re: Center stand mounts

Check that the center stand (foot graver?) the metal "U"shape tube that runs under the muffler wont touch if you misalign the center stand.

Re: r60/2 rear fender hinge

If I had a similar problem I would probably open the hinge a little and insert a new tube (hinge bushing or pipe bursting) and fill the corner to cover the erosion. The hinge does not handle a lot of load plus you have 2 bracket holding the flap in place. If I understand correctly the middle part of...

Re: Retouch or repaint?

Due to financial issues I had to reorganize my projects and postpone the new and beautiful R26 head option for a latter date. “Thanks Carl”. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50492959517_ba74f5fb7b_c.jpg With not much to lose and no financially feasible options, I took a chance and sent the old he...

Re: Retouch or repaint?

Mal tanks for you suggestions. Fixing or modifying the exhaust pipe is not addressing the original defect.
I decided to fix the head issue.
I found one online, but by the time I convince myself to purchase the rebuild head it was too tale, It got sold.

Re: 1956 R26 - My New Baby Has Some Issues

Carott I have to agree with Kurt, the set up on your R26 is not standard. Micro fish and manuals show coil behind the cover, not under the seat. Also the battery case looks similar to an R25. I've the same question as Kurt, is it a 12volt system conversion, the headlight bissell looks different? Als...

A new challenge.

A few weeks back, after I mounted the engine, I try to install the exhaust system, but the end of exhaust pipe and muffler didn’t match. The tip-end is 5 inches away from the frame and the muffler. I went online and discovered there are separate numbers for the engine heads and exhaust pipes for eac...

Re: R25/3 Surging at Idle, Until it Dies?

After a few minutes it stalls or can you ride it at higher RPMs or more throttle?
Coil failing after warming up?
Have you check the obvious, fuel lines, spark plug and sp cable, jets, key vibrating out of contact...

Thanks!

I was wondering if the carb bodies themselves might have been different...

My /6 seems to be a bit of a Frankenstein, with a /7 brake light switch too... the previous owner just seemed to have bobbled the bike together...
Andy would you post some pictures of your bike?

Thanks
