Re: Wiring clips

Parts book has three sizes 135mm (p/n 61118070114), 180mm (p/n 34324066130) and 220mm (p/n 61118070118). Looks like Benchmarkworks has ..114 (135mm) and ..118 (but they have it listed as 180mm). They have a picture.

Re: 1960 R69 turn signal screws ???

I recently bought a switch from BenchMarkWorks. Assuming it is a reproduction and the repo is same as an original... Screw is M2.5 (x0.45 pitch) x 4mm length. I'm measuring the length from under the head to the tip at 3.8mm actual, but assuming that is just tolerance for 4mm length. Head is 5mm diam...

Re: Non Vented Final Drive on my ‘55 R50

If you are looking at machining a standard fill plug to add vent then also take a look at McMasterCarr.

You might be able to get a 1/8" NPT thread into the fill plug.

Re: Non Vented Final Drive on my ‘55 R50

I may have what flyingtpot is referring (or it's a custom job). I have a 1956 R69 where the final drive has had a vent added by previous owner. Body of 'vent' is aluminum, and the vent hole is about 1/16" dia. I grabbed a piece of wire and stripped it back about 2.5" and fed it into the ho...

Re: Emblem on timing cover

Thanks so much. It does amaze me that the machining and positioning are so nice for non-factory. It does raise another question about where someone back in the 60s or 70s (or whenever) might have found a small BMW emblem like this. Thanks again.

Emblem on timing cover

Has anyone see this, have one, or heard of this? Whenever I look at image of 55-69 BMWs I'm always trying to look at the engine timing/front covers for a BMW emblem and I have yet to see another (if it was there, the angle of the picture usually would not show it anyways). This is from my 1956 R69. ...
