Hi Spider - I was about to tell you exactly this, sorry for the delay and I couldn't believe it when I found mine on the inner side. I'm sure there is logic in this set up somewhere. I was trying to take the magneto off, suffice to say its with the mechanic now.

Hi Micha, the frame would appear to be a very late 1952 (November or December) or early 1953 the engine is likely the same, I'm guessing December/January.

The Akip aftermarket stand is

The Akip aftermarket stand is below par, it rusts very quickly and NO don't kick start while on this stand. It will fit your R50/2 and is just ok as long as you keep the lubricant up to it.
