Yeah, the clock is hot all the time, not fused so someone could have shorted it out. St.
Yeah, I managed to get a clock feed shorted once. It wasn't pleasant.

That gold is going to look really nice on that bike. Good find. How many miles are on it?

Re: Help needed to ident engine

I just checked my '75 R90/6; built in Sep '74 and sold late Dec '74 (Cincinnati, OH) 4960352 It was probably built in the same week as yours, only 16 numbers away, perhaps even the same day.

Re: Its alive!

Excellent work! I can appreciate excitement and sense of accomplishment. My '75 /6 sat for 30+ years and it took a bit of effort to get the tar-like old gas out of everything. It sure was great to hear it fire off, though!

I'm glad you posted the picture of it as it sits at the moment. No offense ...

Re: couple observations of a first time airhead

The problem is that it's been spelled incorrectly. The correct spelling is BMW Part$. A friend of mine calls it the "BMW Tax."

Re: It may not be DONE but for now...

Cory,

Nice job. I recommissioned a 1983 R100 back in 2020, and it was similar, parked with gas in tank for about 8 years.

From what I have heard, the R90/6 is one of the best airheads from that era.

Thank you! I complain about the 30+ year old gas that was in the thing but I'm fortunate it ...

Looks great! Interesting front brake setup. I think I have a spare disc that will fit your bike. If you want it - PM me your address and I'll send it your way.

Thanx!. That disc on there is from a Ducati, the caliper is from a BMW S1000RR and then the adapter/mount for the fork and the disc ...

It may not be DONE but for now...

Back in 2022 I bought my '75 R90/6 from a guy here in town who I've known for a few years; I didn't even know he had the thing! It had been sitting in his garage for around 35 years and hadn't been run in at least 32. The petcocks hadn't been turned off, there was gas in the tank, and it was on the ...
