Re: Shock Absorber

I am still waiting on the bike's return from Chile, so it will be a bit before I can diagnose. But I did want to thank everyone for the input so far. What I have learned is that I will have to disassemble and test the parts first, (instead of ordering replacement parts now....)

Again, thanks!

Shock Absorber

Hello everyone! I am enclosing a movie that shows that my rear shocks whine when I bounce on the back. This started on my last trip, and I only notice it when I am standing on the bike while at rest. (Stop sign or stoplight). My assumption is that this is not something I can fix through lubrication ...

Re: Platform for Extra Fuel Cans

David,
I started with a 10l can on my foot peg platform. It bounced loose deep into Patagonia, and I was able to salvage maybe 6l of fuel. Later, I replaced it with a kerosene can, It sat lower and was easier to strap, but I struggled with the lever which adjusted the rear shocks. That plastic can ...

Re: Long Post. Summary: I think it is timing or advance.

First, thank you all for the support. It has been a huge part of my decision to try. I have located most of the my problems, this morning. I twisted the slack out of the advance, to the right, and it ran VERY poorly. I twisted the slack to the slack out to the left (counter clockwise), and it ran ...

Long Post. Summary: I think it is timing or advance.

Hello everyone. I have been in the saddle for 12 hours a day for two days. I am in northern chile, the Atacama desert, and just after I turned around to head back to where I will ship the bike home, I had a major issue. I lost all power in one cylinder, again. I was 100miles from help in both ...

Re: General hard start

Update: Dave was right. The first problem was a loose carb cover after cleaning. It was my Chilean friend that did it, but I did not think to check. Easy fix. Then I found out my battery was bad. Reading 7v under load. Replaced. Then found out I was not charging. Replaced the voltage regulator and ...

Catastrophic failure seat shock

IMG_4296.jpeg IMG_4299.jpeg
IMG_4300.jpeg I had this happen 500 miles ago. I was in permanent low rider mode. Of all the things I didn’t bring, a drill has been the most desired. Drilled two holes with bolts to keep me going. They have since sheered. (M6). I just bought two M8 hardened. The issue ...

Increase in power

Good evening! I have developed a small symptom, if I am driving in town, and hold the throttle steady , it will occasionally accelerate slowly for no reason. I will start and ride steady for 10 seconds and then I get an increase in revs like I am adding throttle. Doesn’t happen all the time, I can’t ...
