I think these guys still offer their copies of the original Rauch buckets:

Re: R69S-Ignition, Switch Plate and Wiring

So what exactly are the symptoms you're seeing? The ignition circuit completes when you push the key down, and the bike can be started, and (I assume) the engine stops when the key is lifted-->that portion of the circuit is working as it should (and a properly installed switch plate is indeed ...

Re: VERY LARGE ARRAY TRIP - Now? Spring?

Since you are consistently at high elevation, you could lean it out a bit for a slightly better performance (thin air = richer mix, as there is less oxygen in the air). It may not be that noticeable but could help with starting (I vaguely remember the Bing book has elevation charts for needle sizes ...

Re: 60/2 Right cylinder not firing

Pull the idle jet and make sure it isn't clogged (and also the passage in the carb body for the idle circuit--that tiny hole just before the slide); blast both the jet and the passage with some carb cleaner. The tiniest bit of sediment or just bad gas can clog up a jet after sitting for only a ...

Re: Carb confusion

Since that flow is almost certainly connected with the inability of the needle to properly seat (and shut off gas flow into the carb), going to lever tops seems like it should help. By the way, it doesn't look like that kit includes the needles, so be aware of that.

Even though I'm sure you've done ...

Re: Carb confusion

When the carb is full, can you kind of punch the tickler and feel it hitting the float? If not, the float may be slightly hanging up and not allowing the needle to fully seat? Try switching the floats (and needles?) side to side and see if any more info can be gleaned.

At the moment, you can't even ...

Re: R69S Finally Supposed to Arrive Tomorrow

>I've only owned newer bikes, mostly Italian

Just remember, this bike has a 50-year-old drum brake system and will not have anywhere near the same bite/grab as modern brakes--ride accordingly until you are used to the necessary stopping distances. An R69S will keep up just fine on modern freeways ...

Re: points question /starting rebuilt engine

As regards your points question:
Make sure you understand the set-up and operation of the mechanical points and can actually perform such a switch-over on the side of the road (in the dark, if you really want to make it a nightmare).

I was once on a day run on my R100RS on a fun road, and the bike ...

Re: Is my side stand the correct length?

One is the 'normal' side stand for Earles bikes, the other is for US bikes (a longer stand, I believe, as the front forks make the bike sit higher).

Since the bike is a '65, I doubt it has the US front end, so could the mounting point (or the stand itself) be bent such that it is not extending at ...
