Re: Dodged a bullet with the slingers on my /2!

The slingers functioned reasonably well during the earlier periods of oil composition. Non-detergent oils let particles fall to the bottom of the engine between starts...sump pan cleaning was more of a yearly task back in the days. Detergent and more modern oils held the particles in suspension, thu...

Re: Recommendations for AM soft rubber grips

I see what you're saying and it makes sense. But the ad says"
Hand Grips Rubber Handle Bar 7/8" 22mm
which leads me to believe they're just saying they can be used for either/or. I don't think you get on 22mm and the other 7/8".

Just so everyone knows, I put “electrical system” in the search box and it’s at the bottom.

Nice that you find things like this. I think, though, that since you created the library and know what you've put where, it might be that you can find things a bit easier than most! Or not!

Re: Recommendations for AM soft rubber grips

They're cheap enough to just give it a shot!! It says for 7/8" and 22mm. I'm pretty sure the bars are 22mm, but 7/8" is bigger than 22mm. Not sure if it's going to work. In situations like that, typically one would wrap the handlebars with some tape just to take up the gap.

Re: piston orientation

I guess Darek's original piston tells it all for him...no "vorn" or arrow means no offset.

Re: tire selection

Heidenau K34s were priced at slightly over $100 with Bench Mark Works...I presume the same price now with MaxBMW?

I have gone to Metzelers on my R69S.

Re: One cylinder coughs and lingers while opening the throttle

Hard to say. I'd try one of the adjustments and see what happens. Then try the opposite adjustment. Easy enough to adjust the screw that controls the air into the idle circuit. Have you confirmed that the slides are rising at the same time as you twist the throttle? Pull the tubes feeding air into t...
