Re: Trip Meter won't reset

The 1.44 number on the dial would indicate that it is to be mated with an R60 and sidecar...the rear drive would be 27:7.

Re: Trip Meter won't reset

My R69S has a trip meter. It turns in order to return the numbers to 000. I don't remember which way it turns, though.

Re: Tight front wheel

I've used those in-place greasers before...they shouldn't really change the preload on the bearings.

Re: Tight front wheel

Welcome to the forum! So, you've owned this bike since 2000 and this is the first issue like this? The bearing preload typically doesn't just change on its own. So you did some lubrication and now it doesn't turn? That's where I'd probably look first.

Not a Klaxon, but rebuilding of a Bosch horn was written in the Fall 2010 issue of the Vintage BMW Bulletin.

Re: Idle jet

Before trying to remove it, be sure and soak for a long time with shots of a penetrant such as AeroKroil.

Re: Idle jet

I think a drill is going to be too aggressive to the brass jets. Get some guitar strings and find the one that fits the best and just push through.

Re: '68 R69s base gasket ??

Chuck -

Seems to me that with the flex combined with the offset conrod power pulses, the flex becomes a torsional type of motion back at the front. At least it seems to me.
