Re: stroke 6 kickstarter lever.

Mal,
I just measured my '74 R90S and the lever sticks out 12cm when it is in it's completely retracted state.
In the image, I am holding the tape measure level, looks a bit distorted from angle.
Good luck,
Scott

Re: R26, 1958

I remember early R26's had an alloy (aluminum) conrod, that often failed. The later R26's maybe '58 and surely '59 had a steel conrod with an appropriately balanced crankshaft. I remember reading about folks that put a steel conrod on an early crankshaft that was balanced for an alloy conrod and the...

latch

These are tricky, and sometimes just need a bit of frustrating fiddling to get right. Often the pot metal housing is failing and must be replaced, The seat pin is also adjustable (at least on replacement seats), sometimes the hinges of the seat are failing or missing the circlips (some models) holdi...

For some reason, I can't

For some reason, I can't currently post pictures. This is the 60CM diameter fianl style dealer sign BMW had manufactured from the 1960's. It still has part of the original paper manufacturers label on the back side. There are many copied enamel signs most/none of which are 60CM in diameter, telltale...
