Home Sweet Home!!!!!

The old R26 is back in my garage. I returned from a 4th of July week-end ride to Denver on my RT Tuesday, and picked up the R26 and rode it home today! It was interesting to compare the two bikes. . . I got more comments at stop lights on the R26. :-)

The bike is almost completed

My mechanic reported that he was surprised it started on the first kick. Top of the carburetor bowl is warped, causing leakage, so a new one is on order. Also a few other bits to be sorted before he will give it back to me. At 90% complete, my bike won the prize in our local club bike show earlier t...

Well, for what it's worth, the speedo on my R26 has always (since about 1975) bounced around a bit.

Ha! I noticed that in the picture of the engine, the cylinder is backwards! Not to worry, it's just sitting there for purposes of taking the picture.

We are at the rolling frame stage. . .

Engine is in process of being put back together, wheels, tires, new shocks assembled and back on the bike. Handlebars mounted. The aluminum caps for the rear suspension had to be ground off to remove the old shocks, and they forgot to order the new ones. . . from the Fatherland. My mechanics and I a...
