Re: Engine slows

Thanks for all of the tips. I've been out of the game for a couple of years. Be fun to pick up a wrench again.

I don't know how a clutch replacement would change how it shifted before? The only thing I can think of is the new plate is too thick and...

Engine slows

A friend replaced the clutch on his R69 US and now when he pulls the clutch in the motor slows almost to a stall. Any thoughts as to why?
Thanks. Frank.

cleaning inside of tank

I have a machine that I want to get on the road. I looked inside the tank and it has dried up crust form the old gas. i used a brush and vacuum cleaner to suck up most of the crud but I'd like to flush it out without harming the red coating or the excellent outside paint. Any thoughts? Thanks. Frank...

RPM drops when clutch pulled

Got a R60/2 basket and rebuilt it. Runs great except... when I pull the clutch the RPM drops. Any thoughts?
Thanks. Frank.

Re: gen light

Never mind. The bulb holder is a later design with two tabs on each holder, no center tab for the green wire. I realized that I had the blue 61 wire on the positive side. All better now.

gen light

A rider brought me a '69 R60/2 to finish wiring and get the bike road ready. Got everything working except the gen indicator doesn't light when key it pushed in. I have continuity but no power from 61 on gen to the bulb holder. Bulb is good. Has anyone had this experience? I haven't tried to start t...

Re: transmission sidecar gearing

I have a sidecar trans on my rig. The first two gears are lower but 3-4 seem the same as a standard unit.
