I have a problem removing my gas cap. I haven't locked the gas cap on my 77 R100 for years. I tried locking it today and yes it locked but when I unlocked it I could not remove the cap from the tank. The cap spun counter clockwise or clockwise but would not engage the threads in the tank. Has anyone...

I have owned an R67/3 for about 40 years and yes they have a few variations from the usual plunger frame BMW. They were introduced in 1955 as a sidecar motorcycle because no R60 was available. My /3 has both wheels with the little scallops in the full width drums. The controls are from the R50, R69 ...

Your rack is one of the early reproductions that came un-assembled. Purchaser was required to weld all the brackets on the rack. Yours was obviously welded up to fit some other motorcycle. Side brackets on the originals were riveted on. I suggest you slot the holes.

Your first 2 pictures are of an aftermarket side stand sold in the 60s and 70s. It's the best ever made in my opinion.

Because of the limited number

Because of the limited number of R50Ses sold in the US many dealers had R50S valve covers left in stock and were more than happy to sell them to anybody for their R50 or R60.

European dealers sometimes

European dealers sometimes added an oval tag on the very front of the front fender with their name and address on it.

1968 R 50/2

I have a 1968 R 50/2 listed on E-Bay #132213272978 if anyone is interested. It is a mostly original bike previously owned by a senior for 33 years. It's a good solid bike.
