Re: R51/3 rear wheel alignment with Plunger rear end

Hi , I have a 1951 R67 and mine is exactly the same , other makes of tyre that ive had with the bike over the last 25 years of use are pretty much the same , seems normal for these machines , the little moulding "sprigs" of rubber just touch the indent for the driveshaft in the mudguard.

Re: Fly wheel marks?

Hi, I know that a lot of time has passed but does anyone know how I set my points with my rather weird two separate marks OT/ SZ and no other marks on the flywheel . I never got a definitive answer last time regarding this problem , should I have the points just opening at SZ ?

Re: Compression every other kick???? Schleicher Cam question.

Hi, been wondering about your "oval" plug hole query ! Do you think it may be oval because oil has leaked past the plug? Well I've the same issue but it turned out to be the Blitz plug washer seating , the profile of the washer will not flatten ...what I've tried is taking a plug washer fr...

Hi, this happened to me too bought a replacement cylinder head for my R67 and after about 10 miles the valve [exhaust ]started to squeak so I stopped the engine and got brought home, my mechanic friend said that because the engine runs at very low oil pressure you need a greater valve guide toleranc...

Re: Bing carb issue

Hi, Teflon won't work for long it breaks down by the gasoline , try looking carefully at the pot metal of the carb surface where the gasket sits and make sure it is perfectly smooth with no pitting, if it is then with a flat smooth file dress the surface down also the screw seat surface too and try ...

Re: Sump plate removal intervals?

Thank you George for a very comprehensive and informative reply to my question . I still use straight 40 engine oil which does not have or very little detergent in it , I have thought of 20/50 oil multigrade but I'm unsure . Once again thanks for the reply I shall use my own judgement on this issue ...
