Re: Sidecar for R80

Didn't check this for a couple of weeks, but I think the sidecar may have been sold.

Re: Sidecar for R80

Thank you all again for your links to a possible sidecar for my '84 R80. Frankly, it looks like it is not an easy or good path to follow. And, after all, I do have a sidecar on my Royal Enfield. And, further, my R80 is a joy to ride, so let's leave it as it is: my Forever BMW!

Sidecar for R80

A couple of years back I saw a fellow with a BMW and a sidecar and, naturally, a dog it in it. Cool!! I ordered up a sidecar through a local dealer (Cozy of India), but when it came it didn't fit. So, I bought a Royal Enfield Bullet for it that fit and it is lovely. Still, it will only go about 50 m...

Re: Paint codes

Thank you Chuck. Great idea. I am off to CVC shortly.

$50 motorcycle? I had a Rickman frame with a CB750 punched out to 1000cc that I sold to the fellow from whom I bought the R80, for, you guessed it, $50. Much $$ later he is still trying to figure out how to stay alive on it.

Re: Paint codes

Thank you both for your very helpful and informed responses. I had purchased the R80 from a friend for a mere $50. Naturally it took another $3500 and five months in the shop, but it runs just great. Hopefully it will be my Forever BMW - I am almost 80 so there is a good chance! Given the advice on ...

Re: Paint codes

I have a '84 R80 like yours with the schema on the fender of 566. I gather that the paint code is 130. Where can I find touch up paint for this code (in US if possible)? Thank you.

Installation of Hoske silencer on my '84 R80

Some time back I had inquired here if the installation of a Hoske silencer on my '84 R80 would require rejetting. Thoughts given were probably not. I just installed it and two things: One, it gave a huge increase in power! The previous owner of 20 years was amazed when he rode it. Secondly, it began...

Hoske silencer on '84 R80

Hello friends,

I am putting the 38mm Hoske silencer on my '84 R80. It runs fine now. After installation do I need to do any rejetting? Thank you!
