Re: How do I make my solo saddle look new again ?

You can spray ACF50 on everything. I would just avoir the saddle (you would have to clean it) and beware of the brakes: do not spray the discs of course, and do not spray too much the drums. The clutch disk is protected and should not be an issue. ACF is safe on electric connections, paint, rubber, ...

Re: How do I make my solo saddle look new again ?

Armour All in the pump spray bottles does look terrific but I don't like any aerosol droplets with silicone floating around my shop as is plays havoc with any finish work..fisheyes can be a nightmare. I never spray it directly on the saddle but on a rag and then apply it to the saddle. Big avantage...

Re: How do I make my solo saddle look new again ?

I am using Armor All that I buy at Canadian tire and it is cheap and efficient.
You can leave it on your saddle overnight and wipe out the product that has not been absorbed and it is almost magical.

There are several mods to be made according to BMW user manual: - transmission (4.33 instead of 3.13 on the R50/2, 3.86 on the R60/2) - Reinforced springs (actually, the standard rear springs can go to the front shocks and you can buy reinforced springs for the rear only) - Large handlebar - Steel r...

I noticed Buchanan Spokes has Borrani rims for sale, but the WM3 are shows as 36H and 40H. Not sure what that means either.
36 and 40 are the qty of spokes.

Re: Hot start problems

Condenser quality is really bad these days and it is not uncommon to change a condenser to find out the brand new one is faulty. Electronic condensers seems to be the way to go

Re: Cleaning the engine, transmission and final drive

Autosol works well on polished aluminum but not really on castings. You can give it a try but... And the Autosol will leave a black film that will need to be cleaned (even on polished surface). Once again, WD40 will remove that in a few seconds.

Re: Cleaning the engine, transmission and final drive

I am not a big fan of the WD40 but I must say that for cleaning an aluminum bloc without risking to damage paint, electrics etc... the WD40 with a brush (nylon or brass) is efficient.
