Re: R26 Rocky Point switch clearance problem

My R 60/2 used to be fitted with the 6 volt H-4 conversion and had no problem with the Rocky Point switch, but it was tight. Then I bought an LED bulb with heat sync. That required the standard socket which required the standard reflector and lens. That did interfere with the switch. Tomorrow Ill go...

Re: R26 Rocky Point switch clearance problem

What do you have for a headlight, the H-4 with the flat lens or the stock lamp with with the convex lens? They use different reflectors.

Re: R 75/5 Drum front brake.

Craig, ATE disk brakes are plug-and-play on a /5 after you collect the parts. You'll need a /6 tank if you want an under tank master cylinder or use a handle bar master cylinder. In my experience, the ATE brakes are somewhat better than a well setup /5 drum, but not much. But, I've never experienced...

Re: Heel toe shifter for 1968 R60/2

How's it going, are you making progress? I came across this Ural accessory yesterday and thought of you. I have no idea if it could be adapted to a BMW, but its another way to go. https://www.uralne.com/hand-shifter-for ... d-reverse/

Re: Heel toe shifter for 1968 R60/2

So you can push down with your left toe and left heel, but you can't pull up with your left toe, right? I'm not there yet but the neurosurgeon wants to fuse my lumbar vertebrae anyway. Getting old ain't for sissies , eh? Depending on how talented your fabricator is, if you hinged the heel pedal so i...

Re: Best handlebars for BMW

Fuzzy, you started by asking about mounting the higher bar with the cross brace, so I'm thinking you like a higher bar. Then everyone started talking about euro flat bars. Keep in mind that you can use /5/6/7 bars with the /2 riser pretty easily because there is no cross brace. I find this medium ri...

Re: Steering Damper Handwheel / Knob Configurations

Craig, the slash sixes didn't use a friction damper, but rather an hydraulic one. When you turned the knob it changed the angle of the hydraulic cylinder to the forks. This was supposed to increase or decrease the resistance to the fork if there was any shake. I put 50,000 miles on my 1976 R 90/6 an...

I would contact David Woodburn if you don't want to do it yourself. I can't find his contact info, but Vech can tell you.

Re: twist grip not right

Well, if nothing is binding and everything is assembled correctly (a lot of ifs) then maybe the throttle assembly is worn out. Have you removed the twist grip and cam for inspection? Good pictures of what they should look like can be seen here: https://vintagebeemerparts.com/ and in Duane's article....
