Re: Cam followers, piston rings and pushrod tube

Is the SF/SG code for the oil with the ZDDP or the oil that doesn’t have enough of it? Thanks.

Re: R50/2 paint

I have used the touch up paint from auto parts stores. The single stage paints were too hard to blend in to the softer original paint in my opinion. I used the single stage paint in an airbrush, but it is hard to get the blend into the original paint without rubbing the original paint too thin. And ...

Re: Main seal?

Warm up the badges with a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive before you use the dental floss or fishing line to remove them.

Re: Main seal?

If you repair with the Heli Coil or a Time Sert either one will be superior to just an oversized threaded hole in the aluminum casting. Especially important when it’s a fastener that you will be removing and retighten occasionally. Plus you will retain the original size supplied when new.

Re: Find spray paint that matches a 74 motorcycle frame

If you look up what nail polish is you will find out that most of it is lacquer paint. It is an excellent source for finding different shades of a color when you are trying to match up a color for touch up. Also doesn’t break your bank account.

Re: R90S Starter operable when engine running

I think that the starter being able to engage by pushing the button is pretty common on not just motorcycles but also cars from that period of time. Not sure about the latest models offered today. Re: Rust in Rims

Before I mount the tire I always run a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the center of the rim and then use a rim rubber strip. I won’t stop all of the rust from occurring but it will help to keep it more contained to just the spoke nipple area.

Re: Jawa Velorex sidecar

It depends on what model of a Jawa sidecar you are selling. There is an early version around 1974 that looks great on the BMW and sells pretty easily. The one later model is ok too. But some of the other models you may sit on for longer before selling them.

Re: S Faring Zippered Storage Bags ?

Check out Goodwill stores and similar thrift store in the ladies accessories areas. I have purchased those types of bags there. They used them for cosmetics and other female necessities. Great for keeping different items separated on motorcycle trips. And very cheap in those places.
