Re: R51/3 Drive shaft replacement...

Klaus :)

Ive attached pics of where ive got to.

The rear wheel is off and yes i’d disconnected from the transmission. The driveshaft came out as far as you see in the pic with a fairly soft hit with a hammer and a piece of wood.

Now it wont budge :)

Any thoughts?

Re: R51/3 Drive shaft replacement...

Klaus! Gosh thank you for sharing. This depth of knowledge is why i joined and support this forum! :) I admire the ingenuity of your method :) I understand everything youve said but while this will certainly support the existing driveshaft, im not sure it will help me free the pin, but ill try it! I...

Re: Kickstarter swop: easy job?

Heh Michael
Thanks for your reply!
Viewing them ‘on the bike’ they look fine. Perhaps i’ll order up replacements in case they are a little worn when i remove them. They aren’t expensive components.

Kickstarter swop: easy job?

:) Heh everyone

Just about to order a new kickstarter lever for my R51/3 as mine is more than a little tired. Am i right in thinking it’s an easy swap? I don’t want to mess with the transmission internals and cause mechanical problems just for a cosmetic swap.

Any guidance appreciated
