Length of oil pan bolts for 1956 R69

Doing a service on my bike that includes removing the oil pan. Amongst a bunch or stuff I recently ordered from Bench Mark was a new set of bolts and washers. The ones they sent me have a shaft that is 3/4 of an inch long and the ones currently on the bike are 5/8 long. When I thread the new ones on...

Re: Non Vented Final Drive on my ‘55 R50

Hey Chris. On the site today for another need and saw your post. Figured I would post a couple photos of the vented plug that the original restorer (deceased) added to my bike and I never knew what it was for, or that it was a modification to original until we texted back and forth about it last nig...

Re: Tires ???

I'm about to replace the tires on my 1956 R69. It came to me a few years ago with Metzler Lasertec ME33 100/90 V18 on the front, and Metzler Metronic ME55A 120/90 V18 on the back, both of unknown age. I've had the bike for 4 years, put 3k+ miles on it, and I can tell the tires are getting hard and n...

Plug reach

If the Klymer manual is correct, based on my bikes serial number, I should be using short reach plugs. The NGK BH8S is the correct plug based on all of the cross reference charts I looked at for W260 T1 as well as the W240 T1 plugs. Unfortunately Bosch discontinued those plugs and I can't find a Bos...

Best spark plugs for 1956 R69?

I have been using the same type of plugs that were in my bike when I got it 3 years ago. NGK B8HS (5510). I have taken the advice from this website and just toss them when they are looking dirty instead of cleaning them. At $3 bucks a pop it is a cheap way to deal with it and the bike likes it. Just...
