I did some reading and thinking a few years ago and decided on VR-1 20w-50 for both my /2 and airhead.

Thanks Mal, I have the fourth edition 2019 of Barrington's manual. The wrist pin tool that I don't think Dan offers any more, is the last tool discussed in "Cycle Works Tools" my page 52. The discussion about R&R of the bushing is on my page 210 in the section "Crankshaft Evaluation and Renovation"....

The motorcycle tubes I have purchased over the years come with two nuts I assume one for between the rim and tube the other on the outside of the rim. Together they would lock the stem tightly to the rim. While I didn't find SnowBum discussing the nut between the rim and tube I did catch that he sai...

Thanks Kurt, If I'm going to read something from Snowbum, I'm going to have to wait till I have an hour or more uninterrupted. I read a couple years ago his discussion of tube vs no tube on those wheels. In the end I was no more sure of a course than before I started. ;-)

About ACF-50 will it harm paint? Is there any place you would avoid on your MC? This seems like a great product to winter-over.

Thanks I appreciate the information. I was loaned a 20mm rod to perform that test. How can you tell if it is within specifications with that process of using a 20mm rod through both bushings? Is a tiny bit of wiggle acceptable?
