New bearings for R12

Hello,

I am rebuilding my R12 transmission and will be machining new bronze bearings.
Anyone out there happen to know what the clearance should be?
Some of my shaft to bearing clearance right now measures at .005-.006.

I am thinking more in the .003 range.

Any thoughts?

Hello Vech,

Do you remember the part number of the Eutectic (brand) welding rods?

Re: Bronze bushings instead of needle bearing

Hello,

I have seen them in pre-war rear ends.
Not sure when they changed over to needle bearings.
Richard Sheckler may know.
