Ok, it looks like my picture may be here. The other side of the tank has a similar shape.

Re: Heinrich tank

olebmw,

Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile. I cannot figure out how to post a photo of my tank. Hopefully it is enough to say both sides of my tank are tapered at the front to clear the s/c mount. Same as the right side of the tank R68 posted.

Re: New to this site

In the Muscle Car world vehicles like that are called clones. Not a real XYZ, but exactly like an XYZ.

I like the term and nobody is offended by the desire to emulate a cherished design.

Re: Tubeless tires?

You can change the rear without laying the bike on its side: - Tie the center stand to the exhaust crossover - Remove the front wheel - Tilt the bike forward onto the front forks - Remove the rear wheel - Reverse the process to install I've done this on the side of the road to repair a flat. Not muc...

Re: 1975 r90/6 mounting seat

Just use a bolt and either a self-locking nut or double nut - 1/4" or 6mm. Actually makes seat removal/replacement much easier. Make sure the hinge pivots on the unthreaded portion of the bolt.

Re: 1975 r90/6 mounting seat

There is a peg for the rear mount also. But, it is hidden behind the sheetmetal on the rear subframe. It is a pain to get the rear one on. Since one goes on from the front and the other from the rear they won't just slip on. Usually you have to remove one of the hook brackets to get them both on the...

Re: Kick start 75 r90/6

I have a kickstarter on my R100RS. It is useless as a kickstarter. You will have much better success push starting your bike. It is handy for rotating the engine when adjusting valves or similar. Is it worth having?????? Not really.

Ah, the owner of this bike never said it was an R90S bike or a /5. He has been upfront in it being a custom bike using R90S and /5 parts and styling cues.

St.
Actually, he stated it had an R90S engine. And he may have been told that and believe it to be true, but it isn't.

Re: Sidecar recommendations requested

Lets face it: Riding sidecar rig is not the same as riding a motorcycle. The only thing they have in common is the placement of the rider and the controls. I've often said you are much better getting into a sidecar rig if you have never ridden a motorcycle. Not saying you can't enjoy the sidecar if ...

Re: upshifting from 1st to 2nd gear, very abrupt

Actually the brief description does not sound like the transmission to me. The engine speed must be high to jerk the bike forward. It sounds like the engine speed is not coming down. Is there slack in the throttle cables? Is the advance mechanism free and returning properly? Is the idle speed too hi...
