Re: Denfeld vs Pagusa?

Thanks Kurt, I've heard similar explanations in the past. What would be great to know is if there were years, models, etc that came with one or the other? I'm sourcing a solo for a friend's 1955 R69 for example and would like to know which would be considered "correct." I'm also sourcing s...

Denfeld vs Pagusa?

I'm in the market for a new solo and have explored the options currently available from a few German suppliers. They offer both the Denfeld and Pagusa options and while both appear to be practically identical, the Denfeld is slightly more expensive. My supplier of choice offers both and oddly the ch...

Re: Reserve on 6 gallon sport tank?

I have several sport tanks and have never seen one with dual outlets. I'm not saying they don't exist, they might. But I've never seen one. I have seen a few other tanks with dual outlets but not that factory sport tank.

Re: Crank Rebuild - Brent Hansen

James, I've got a decent queue of future projects and with the uncertainty of how long Brent may continue providing this service, I sure wish it was simpler to just pull all the cranks and send them to him at once. But, my shop isn't big enough to have all those motors torn down at once. I may start...

Crank Rebuild - Brent Hansen

This may be old news to some but I thought it pertinent enough to share with the group here. I’m currently buried in the most frustrating and continuously disappointing restoration process of my tenure dealing with vintage BMW’s and wanted to give a “shout out” to Brent Hansen. While I intend to ful...

Re: R69S won't keep running

808, Not to hijack but I’m wondering if I’ve had a similar issue on my R50/2. When setting the timing I’ve had to widen the points gap to get the static mark to line up as the points adjustment window will not allow it otherwise. I’ve chased my tail endlessly on this bike and finally have torn the e...

Re: Pushrod tube seals still available from BMW dealer

I’m currently facing this same issue with my R80GS. I installed new pushrod tube rubbers from Euro Motor Electrics last winter and with only 1000 miles on the rebuild I see they’re already cracking. They haven’t started leaking yet but it’s only a matter of time. What a bummer.

Re: spark plug gap, 65R50/2

You’re using the wrong plugs. I can’t recall exactly but from NGK they should be something like B8HS.
