I surely love my old beemer however . I changed my starter and tried to activate it with the major brown wires underneath t5he coils loose. I turned on the ign . All ok pressed the starter button it turned over. Then the 2 middle wires from the starter relay shorted. I thurried and turned off the ign sw. After I turned it back on no instrument lamps. No starter. If I apply power to these wires it all comes back on. Cannot find any fuses blown. The clutch lever switch has been bypassed. Maybe the diode board has a bad diode???? I surely need help as nobody knows what to do. I would appreciate some advice. I oun a plating shop maybe we can trade knowlage. Thanks Bob Coleman 985-792-1575 Bob Coleman

Check your schematic. Some BMWs bring the power from the battery (Red) to the starter relay and then on to the ignition switch. If you damaged your starter relay or the wiring at the relay, then there would be no power at the ignition switch.
