Update: The updates mentioned in the original article below have been applied successfully. The site was brought offline at 7:35 pm PDT, the changes applied and the site tested, and then it was brought back online at 9:10pm. Hopefully we will not need to do this again for several more months. Thanks again for your patience.

The VBMWMO website has migrated to a new server at our hosting service, which should provide a stable environment. As a result of this change, we will be applying a number of accrued updates and a few minor security fixes to our website software next week.

For the past month and half, visitors to our site have been receiving sporadic Internal Server Error (ISE) reports when viewing pages on the site. This problem seems to stem from the loading on the server we were hosted on at our hosting service, and the resulting internal resource contention. After working with the support group at our hosting service, we have migrated the site to a new "grid server", which should be slightly faster and react better to spikes in resource demand.

On Thursday, August 12, the site was down for several hours to fascilitate this migration. No data was lost, and the system is now functioning correctly, with no hint of any more ISEs.

Over the last six months, since the inception of the club's new website, a number of the modules that provide various features to the site have received upgrades. There have also been a few minor security fixes as well, which did not impact account data or the processing of credit cards through our online store. The application of updates requires each step to complete successfully, and while we were receiving occasional ISEs, it seemed that it could require that the site be down for a long period to complete the updates.

Now that the ISEs are gone, we will be updating the website on Monday or Tuesday, August 16 or 17, in the evening PDT hours. The site will not be available for 1-2 hours when we do this. Although there won't be any visible changes in the site as a result of the updates, they allow us to ensure that the site remains solid and secure into the future.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us using the Contact Page here on the website.

Thanks for your patience, understanding and participation!
