Does anyone know from where can I buy parts to rebuild a BMW R71 of 1939. I need parts for the engine.

Thanks

I don't know exactly what you need, but Mark Huggett http://www.bmwbike.com/ and Oldtimer Garage http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/store/ are the places I would start.

The problem with having an R71 is that no one will believe it is not Russian or Chinese. I have one, too (in the project stage).

R71 1939 Parts

Thank you very much!! I am looking for Carburetors, piston to begin with and as we procceed with the restoration certainly something will come up!

It does not matter what people think, even by making the thought that is not a BMW it means they appreciate the beauty and the are trying to find a mistake on our project..

I ll let you know if I come with any more information around parts, that might help you too.

I should have added these to the list, too.
Philip Dreher is dependable.

I know Stemler and Uli carried some prewar parts, but I do not know what they currently have.

There are a number of vintage guys that also deal in used parts. If you need a list, drop me a PM.

Are you looking for original Graetzin carbs? They will be hard to find, but there are inexpensive modern repops. I use Bings from an R50 on my R6 combination. They work better than the Fischer Amals I have for it, so there are many possibilities to fit almost any budget.
