The catalog is on line!

Lot 1 is an R90S, so Classic gets the post.

A Dutch trader who knows the collection advised that like any auction, caveat emptor is the order of the day. In looking at the photos of some of the models I know, I agree. Good eye candy in any case!

Neutken's Auction Online Catalog

I compared the listings before and after the auction. Did they misrepresent the bikes in the initial listing, make mistakes, and/or add bikes that were not part of the original listing? I couldn't match bikes to my initial list and ended up with way more bikes sold (ie, year/model) than were initially listed.

Can the model/year/VIN be trusted on the final auction list?

Do you mean comparing the catalog to the list of bikes they published before the catalog was issued?

I did not pay much attention to anything other than the prewar twins, but I think the list of bikes was the same as the catalog.

FWIW, your original chart (Excel?), as printed, did not list all the bikes across the x axis. I assume you inputted all of them in the spreadsheet, but I think due to axis formatting, they did not all print out in the chart.

I have not kept track of engine and frame numbers. It would not surpirise me if there were some errors in the original online catalog that were corrected over the 4 week period it was online.

Bruce -

You're correct...because of the tight spacing, not everything could be printed along the horizontal axis. That's why I included the list on the second page so one could find two entries on the plot next to each other and go to the table and find the ones that weren't listed along the axis. Not a perfect situation given how many bikes there were. I suppose I could have split the chart into several sets...

I guess I didn't follow the catalog and auction as closely as others, so I just compared the initial listing (from which I made the plot) to those in the link you provided. I found quite a difference between the two.

I thought it might be interesting to compare the pre-auction estimates to the final prices to see where the differences where and which era of bikes garnered more bidding. But since the before and after lists were so different, it's not worth it.
