How thick should my clutch friction plate be? It measures .20 mm and it is black and very dirty. I have a 61 R27 with 26,000 miles.

Clutch Friction Plate???

0.2mm?? That's 0.008 inches, right? Seems paper thin to me. Not sure if they're the same type of configuration, but the friction disk on my R69S with 27K miles on it was over 8mm thick.

Check out Vech's website at http://www.benchmarkworks.com/. He shows the R27 clutch plate as being 5mm thick brand new. Seems like 0.2mm would have gotten well into the rivets.
