Now the slider or piston problem out of the way I need to made sure I reassemble the Carburator correctly.
With the pictures provided below , I think the thin edge that extend out on the floater suppose to be up(m'I correct?)
And the word Bing where the 2 wires soddered is at the bottom.
I also notticed that only one (1) copper spacer came out on the right hand side Carb.
m'I suppose to have 2?
Thank you for your great help/
Z

Bing Carb Floater Position Also Do I need 1 spacer per side?

Hi Zeb,
You appear to have what are called lever top float bowl covers. This is a good thing. They work better than the original covers.
You should have a spacer on top of each float and the float goes in with the wires up (on top) and the thin flange down.

Hope this helps,

It appears from these views:

http://www.bingcarburetor.com/pdf/2x2.pdf

that the thin metal ring should be at the bottom.

I don't really have a clue about the spacers. The diagram doesn't even show them. Not sure what their purpose really is. I'd put things back the way you found them and go from there.

I'm looking in my Bing manual (everyone has one-right?), and I don't see any spacers for any float needles.
AND, neither end of your needled are pointed. The end that goes up is supposed to have a point. Yours look like somebody has bee using them as a drift or something. Get new needles- you'll need to figure out what your carb number is. Call Bing at (620) 767 -7844

Also, just for laughs, look in the bottom of your bowls; is there a place for a needle to rest in at the bottom of both? Does it look like you need to call a plumber to clean the bottoms out?

OK, let's try this again.
Zeb does not have the original floats or covers in/on his float bowls.
He has lever top covers and floats to match. There are no points on the float rod because the float rises and presses on a lever that seats a viton tipped needle like a modern float assembly.
There is a spacer that slides over the float rod and rests on top of the float(where the spring wires are that hold the float rod in place). This spacer/washer is what bears on the "lever" to seat the float needle. This spacer is necessary for the floats to operate properly.
I have these Levertops on my Bings and never have a problem with leakage or float bowl flooding.
If you go to Bings web site you can find where you can buy this conversion. It is also in the July 2006 Bing manual on page 20.
Check the link in my first post and you will see the Lever Top Kit on Bings web site.
Hope this helps,
Dean

Well, this shows how my head is stuck in the sand. If i search my head files, seems like maybe I heard of these contraptions once...

I'll go sit down now.
