Hey all,

All the BMW shop's such as Werkstatt and BMW of SF have been pointing me to a guy called Recommended Service in SF - but turns out he doesn't work on anything pre /5. Can anyone recommend a good /2 mechanic in the Bay?

Cheers,
alan

Good shop for /2's in Bay Area?

Alan -

And he couldn't provide you any recommendations? Hmmm... I don't know of any offhand, but I would contact Ted Porter at the Beemershop to get his input. I'm sure he only works on /5 and later also, but I bet he'd have an idea of others around that you could look into. Ted's website is http://www.beemershop.com.

Here's another possibility...I realized that Darryl posted this on another forum. You could stop by Joe Groeger's on a Saturday morning...maybe get some ideas there. Here's more information:

Dick something-or-other in Oakland I think.
Ask kari Prager at California BMW in Mt View for a recommendation.

Just remembered Joel Hanson! He used to put on a vintage rally in some park down Los Gatos way every year and I think he still does. I'd bet Kari could find him, or here's some old info;

Box 809, Los Gatos, CA 95031 phone# (408) 353 -1824

That's old info, but you never know...

Hey - thanks for the suggestions. Found a great guy who works mostly on Japanese bikes, but was able to help me out with my problems. Dave Ohanlon, in SF. He's not the guy to rebuild your motor, but can help diagnose problems and was able to fix my electrical issues!

Cheers,
AK
