Hello everybody. I am a new member from Ireland. I have recently bought an R62. It is generaly in very good condition. The carb is not original. It works fine, but I would like to replace it with an original type. Can anybody help me with this. I also need an original speedometer cable.

Regards.

Tim.

Check out Philipp Dreher's website, he has a lot of repop parts for your bike. Also, Lesek Lyszwinski of Oldtimer Garage in Poland:

Good luck! I'm sure you'll enjoy your R62, I really like my R52!

Be prepared

One thing,
Don't think you are going to just bolt this thing on and have it run correctly. You will need to "Tune" the new carb including reshaping the bottom of the slide to give just the right amount of air given its position to the main jet.

BMW R62 Carburetor

Hello Peter.
Thanks again for your help. This is my first antique BMW and I am grateful for any advise that I can get. My bike is in very good condition, but, it has a small number of non standad features. I want to finish it to as close to standard as possible. I have ordered a new carburetor, I should have it in the next two weeks, or so. I would be greatful for any advise on the setting up of the carb. My email address is ocallti@eircom.net. Can you send me your email address?
Regards.
Tim O Callaghan.

R62 Carb

I am working on a '28 R62 also. So far I haven't been able to find information on which jet goes where and the proper configuration of carb cables. Does anyone have drawings and/or pictures they can share?
Ted
