Looks like the pictures are not on Darryl's site anymore or the connection to his website/server is very slow right now.

Alas, I'm out of town for the next week and a half, and my server seems to be down. So anything that links to crafty-fox.com won't work until it gets fixed...

How does one post a picture anyway?
How does one post a picture anyway?
Peter -
First thing is the picture needs to be on the web somewhere as a JPG image. People use various photo sharing sites (snapfish, photobucket, etc.), some of which are free or cost very light for space. Often times, those sites will have help on how to post an image.
I have some personal webspace. So, with one of my pictures out there I just type the following information:
[ img ]http://thisiswheremyphotois.jpg[ /img ]
where I remove the spaces inside the brackets and the stuff in the middle is the URL for the location of the picture.

What are those angular headers, and what is that second rear side stand?

Annual toy run. R100 engine. My usual kid cancelled, so I made Tony come to throw candy. I gave him a 10lb bag, but his hands are so big, we ran out in only 3 blocks. (I think he drew blood on a few of the spectators he hit!)
Got this R67/2 because it was supposed to be a restoration. A year later... almost have it sorted out. This is the picture when I got it- looks pretty good, anyway!

I can rebuild a M2B15 but I can't figure out how to post a picture of it. How pathetic...........

PS: here's what I have:
A picture saved on my computer in "My pictures"
Where do I go from there?
Peter, you need to get your picture up onto the internet someplace, like Smugmug ( http://www.smugmug.com) or Flickr ( http://www.flickr.com) or one of the many other photo hosting web sites.
Once your picture is up there, you need a link to it (a web URL, that begins, http://). This link must end with .jpg or the forum software won't work with it.
Then, once you have that, create a new post and put around the link, with no spaces. That should bring up your photo.
Darryl,
I have them now in smugmug gallery. OK, explain what I do now..
P
Ok, now that your photos are up on the net, select one, like this nice R32...
Right click on the picture and select Properties. Then click and drag over the Address (URL) field to highlight it. Type Ctrl-C to copy it. This is the URL here:
http://bmwmuseum.smugmug.com/photos/375704528_SQvhc-M.jpg
Notice that the URL ends with .jpg. If you don't have a URL like that, it won't work.
Now open up a reply here on the forum. Type the magic incantation . Remember, no spaces anywhere, or it won't work. When you submit it, it will be replaced with the actual image, as below:
imghttp://bmwmuseum.smugmug.com/photos/375704483_jAMjt-S.jpg/img
OK I got the above but did I get the img part correct?
http://bmwmuseum.smugmug.com/photos/375704513_H3zXf-Ti.jpg/img
how about this?
Peter -
Just to help Darryl out...he's probably out riding!!
You're getting the URL part right...we can click on it which takes us to the website.
But to have it show directly in the post, you need the immediately after the .jpg. As you write in your post it would look like this:
["img"]http://bmwmuseum.smugmug.com/photos/375704513_H3zXf-Ti.jpg["/img"]
but without the quote marks that I inserted for a visual reference...take the " out and it should work. You almost got it on one of your posts. You just need the square brackets around the img part.

1928 R63
OK, Heres the R63 and the prior is the R16
Jeff,
And how is one suppose to make the pictures bigger??
Peter
Riding the R16 in the Black Forest. Even the cows are impressed!
By using the medium sized images over at smugmug, instead of the tiny ones.
The cows ought to be impressed! Is that a series 2 R16?
Who can name the bike? Quick.
Darryl, you are not included. We know you know everything!
