I've never seen a detailed drawing of these frames. Are you trying to reproduce them?

I have an R52, which is the same frame as an R62/63. I can try to make some measurements, but I am not more than about a grade 3 shadetree mechanic. I have a drivetrain for an R62, and I am myself looking for all the stuff to bolt up around it.

What do you need to know?

my guess is that if drawings are needed

the most effective way would be to put a known good frame up on an inspection surface and use a CMM on it

possibly a local votech instructor may think it is a great project for students learning to use such a device and may do all the plotting and convert it into a write-able 3d drawing gratis or for a small donation to the school

to manually measure with any level of precision as to render useful data for reproduction would consume at least a day on behalf of a person skilled and fluent with such practices

and it would be a long way from the results afforded by using a CMM and good CAD program ............ and in about a forth of the time

Hi!
thanks for your answears.
The frame constructions is very simple but i agree with you that measure it would need a lot of time to be done right way.The CMM method would be probably best but unfortunely i don`t have a good frame to borrow from someone here on place.
Dear Darryl.Richman could you try to measure it in free time?
Good way would be just put it on big sheet of paper and draw beside tubes, side by side(leftside, right side, top side and bottom). This way haveing some of main dimensions is posible make correct shape.
About Konrad`s repros-how much he want for frame?I would prefer do it by myself to reduce costs and maybe to make some more for sale.If i can do it why not.. Wink
Thanks a lot friends.
best regards-Miron

As my R52 is completely assembled, I don't think I can effectively put paper against the frame rails. I will put a tape measure against the rails and try to give you some numbers, but I can't even assure you that my frame isn't bent...

There was a fellow from South Africa who advertised in the spring issue of The Bulletin (V34N1) a "bit bent but repairable" original R52-63 frame and a reproduction frame. I looked at some photos and the bent frame was really pretzeled. The repro frame looked pretty good, but I decided to look for an original frame.

Leszek at Oldtimer Garage offers the same frame (at least I think it is the same) for €995.

I was just looking at his site and somehow managed to miss this. Looks like it's brazed, just like the original...
