Hi there,
My R51/3 needs a 0,95 with Kilometer scale since I live in Europe.
When I bought it , the bike came with a 1.0 speedometer.
When I decide to restore that ,and use it, can anyone of you tell me how much
it will deviate + or - in relation to the 0.95 ?

Greetings PeeWee

1:0 speedo

I have a speedo in kilometers with 1:0 ratio - the speedo works but the odometer does not. I'll sell it for $50 plus actual shipping. gatomail at mighty dot net

The number 0.95 means that

The number 0.95 means that the speedometer cable turns 950 times to register one kilometer. If it says 1.0, then it's 1000 times per one kilometer. The cable turns out of the transmission regardless of what the speedometer is ratioed for. So, if you're road speed is actually 60 kph, then seems to me with the 1.0 speedo, you're going to cover the kilometer in the same one minute, and the odometer will have recorded more than one kilometer. I suspect that the speed registered is also going to be more than 60 kph.

Math in public is dangerous!

if you have 1,0 now you get

if you have 1,0 now you get 5% more than you must have ..
only if you have the correct differential 35/9
