I have been using the same type of plugs that were in my bike when I got it 3 years ago. NGK B8HS (5510). I have taken the advice from this website and just toss them when they are looking dirty instead of cleaning them. At $3 bucks a pop it is a cheap way to deal with it and the bike likes it. Just wondering if that is the best plug to use. I think Bosch W240T1 is the original suggested plug but I don't think they are available any more. Any thoughts?

The '56 R69 should take short

The '56 R69 should take short reach plugs. NGK BH8S appears to be short reach.

H is 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) reach

Picture of B8HS seems to be

Picture of B8HS seems to be short reach:

https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/ngk-standard-spark-plug-b8hs-5510/55...

Picture of B7HS looks to be long reach:

https://www.amazon.com/NGK-B7HS-Standard-Spark-Plug/dp/B0000AXR66

That's what I first looked at. But this page does indicate E is 3/4" and H is 1/2".

Can't find Bosch W4AC

The Bosch W4AC is no longer available. Do you know a source?

Plug reach

If the Klymer manual is correct, based on my bikes serial number, I should be using short reach plugs. The NGK BH8S is the correct plug based on all of the cross reference charts I looked at for W260 T1 as well as the W240 T1 plugs. Unfortunately Bosch discontinued those plugs and I can't find a Bosch site that lists a replacement plug. So unless someone knows of a secret stash of Bosch plugs I will keep using the NGK BH8S.
