I just purchased a '62 R69s and was interested in finding out to where it was originally shipped (city / state)
The earliest info I have is that it had an Ohio title in 1999 then was sold to a Florida owner.
Just trying to establish a history of sorts.
Thanks

I was unable to find anything

I was unable to find anything about previous owners my R69S other than what was on the title. The best I know is that the bike was bought in Germany and shipped home by a soldier. But if you contact BMW archives, they can hopefully tell you a little about the bike...maybe it was shipped to a German dealer or maybe it just came to Butler & Smith in the US. They might know the build date. Try either of the addresses:

historiches.archiv@bmw.de

info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com

Report back what you find! You can also type in your 6-digit VIN in the boxes to the left...it will take you to the R69S page. At the bottom of the page is a PDF file of compiled models, VINs and build dates that I've come across. It might give you some idea of where your bike falls.

You should be OK if one of them gets through. It may take some time to hear back.

The top address certainly

The top address certainly lacks an s: historisches... but I don't know if that adress then works. I used the bottom one a few years ago and it worked.

Best regards,
Frank

info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com

info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com

With the above address, they replied in a couple days and told me when the bike was manufactured and to where it was originally shipped.
They even confirmed the original color (white) and seat type (bench)

You should get info back from them
