Hello everyone
I have a 1967 R69s which is skipping out of 3rd. I am going to remove it and send it out for a rebuild . I also have a 1958 R69 with a transmission I would like to test. My question is: Can I mount the 58 tranny into the 1967? I also have a /5 or /6 tranny with kickstart that came with my R90s, which seems to be a less likely fit.
Thanks very much for your imput.

I would do some close

I would do some close inspection of the two transmissions, but I don't think there would be an issue doing that.

I would highly recommend

I would highly recommend Blaise at http://www.descoatelier.com/ for your transmission work.

Don't forget to drive the cotter pin from the underside onto your shift lever before mounting the trans to the engine.

Transmission went in

Transmission went in beautifully. As far as I could find out the donor transmission and bike were not run since the 70's. Drained the little bit of oil in that transmission and put in new gear oil. I went for a little ride and it seems to shift through all gears fine. I will have to adjust the clutch a bit. I am planning to change out the gear oil after a couple of small rides to get rid of any sludge.
Thanks so much for the input. This site is a great resource for a novice like myself.
