Went for a little ride down the coast to test out the euro bars I just fitted and to try out Vech's easy clutch (wow, what a difference) Shot these with just my iPhone but liked how they came out. Spent the morning at the DMV registering the proper period correct plates for the bike, pain in the ass but well worth it

Duane discussions the easy

Duane discussions the easy pull clutch at the bottom of this page:

http://w6rec.com/bmw-motorcycle-clutch-plate-information-remove-and-repair/

It's a setup to increase the mechanical advantage of the clutch action so the hand pull is reduced. But as Duane says, the adjustment range is affected so it has to be set up right.

Vech has a picture here:

Very nice. I had both the low

Very nice. I had both the low Euro Bars and solo seat set-up the same way. It was ok for around town but for serious riding I installed the original high US bars and a Corbin Solo. Just a more comfortable position for my 6'2" frame.

But they way you have yours set-up... nothing looks better. Beautiful picture.

@schrader7032 - The easy

@schrader7032 - The easy clutch does take some adjustment to get right, still fiddling on it with the help a local friend who built the bike and knows it far better than I do. We will see if we can get the adjustment right but if not I plan on just going back to the standard setup. Installed new teflon lined cables for the clutch/brakes and it made all the difference in my opinion, had the easy clutch already so we figured we'd give it a go. Honestly the feel with just the new cables was night and day.

@stagewex- Swapped from the high US bars and I can see what you mean about long distance comfort. Haven't done much distance riding on them yet but did around 100 miles today and am really enjoying the riding position. Then again, I had drop bars and my Norton and clip-ons on my last Ducati so I guess I'm used to the more forward riding position. Haven't tried the Corbin myself but have only heard good things and know they build a nice seat.

Still new to the vintage BMW bike world so I'm learning as I go...and enjoying every minute of it

"Clip-On's/Norton/Ducati" All

"Clip-On's/Norton/Ducati"

All buzz words that say you'll be fine with the low-bar position.
Enjoy.

Easy clutch on a /2?

Years ago I ordered the clutch-pull modification from Vech for my '67. I had read some favorable comments about it and I guess I was in a farkling mood. Before he shipped it, Vech emailed me to say that on a late-sixties /2 it would not benefit me enough to justify the cost. Not for the last time, I took his advice.

Good Advice

Ended up removing the easy clutch and just replacing it with a new teflon coated one, made a big difference in itself from the old cable. Its a bit firmer of a pull than with the easy clutch but the adjustment is spot on and I'm happy with the results
