I took my 66 R50/2 for a 50 mile jaunt this weekend to warm it up for a compression check. After kicking it for about 6 times, with full throttle, I got about 100 lbs on both cylinders. My Clymer manual say it should be 125 lbs. I keep hearing that the /2's were low compression bikes. Is 100 lbs good for this bike? The previous owner said the bike was just rebuilt (new rings anyway) so I was expecting more pressure?
Thanks in advance.

125 psi seems about right. I

125 psi seems about right. I would think that 100 is somewhat low. How many miles since the rebuild? Depending on the break-in process, things could improve as the bike works itself out. You could do a leak down test to see where the issue might be.

The guy that sold it to me

The guy that sold it to me there was about 2,000 since rebuild, and I've put less than 200 since I got it in Aug. It is somewhat difficult to start. I might do a leak-down test.
Thanks
Brian
