Has anyone compiled a complete list of just the vintage fasteners with respective finish? I see that information in the parts books, but sure would be easier when you will restore the complete bike. thanks

Yes, I made a list for my plunger, probably won't do you any good. It doesn't take all that long, just jot them down as you go down the parts list, keeping to subassembly titles, then go back and 'excel' them into quantities, sorted with size and type on the left and finish across the top, voila', an hour at the most.
When ordering or filling your sacks at the hardware store you may want to stick to one brand, if possible, as the same size bolt can have different sized heads between brands, plus, of course, different casting letters. And there are those specialized bolts only available from the usual BMW suppliers. You'll also find that lengths listed are not necessarily available, get what's close. Have fun!
